Editorial policy

This policy describes how Veridia commissions, checks and corrects health information.

1. Editorial purpose

We publish accessible context about nutrition and men’s health for adult UK readers. We aim to inform rather than persuade readers toward a product or treatment.

2. Evidence and sources

Writers identify the kind of evidence being discussed and avoid presenting a single study as a complete answer. Source quality, relevance and date are considered during review.

3. Medical boundaries

Pages do not diagnose, prescribe or replace consultation. Symptom and treatment boundaries are stated when a topic could be misunderstood.

4. Language

We avoid guaranteed outcomes, alarmist phrasing and shame-based descriptions of weight or food. Claims are written with proportionate confidence.

5. Review

Articles receive a second editorial reading for accuracy, scope, links, date and accessibility. Review does not create a clinician-patient relationship.

6. Conflicts

Commercial relationships that could influence a page are disclosed internally and separated from editorial decisions. Paid placement cannot purchase favourable conclusions.

7. Corrections

Readers can report an error with a page link, passage and source. Substantive corrections are reviewed, made transparently where appropriate and dated.

8. Updates

Pages are revisited when guidance, source interpretation or safety considerations change. The visible date indicates the latest editorial review.

9. Independence

Veridia does not accept instructions from advertisers about editorial conclusions. The editorial desk retains control over headlines, wording and corrections.

10. Contact and record

Contact 78 Elmwood Gardens, Islington, London, N1 1AB or 020 7946 0958. This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026 and will be updated when the process materially changes.

The policy applies to articles, guides, explainers, headlines, captions, newsletters if introduced, corrections and editorial replies. It covers commissioned and internally prepared material published for adult UK readers. It does not turn a linked source into a Veridia publication or make a third party responsible for our editorial decisions.

Sources are recorded in working notes with their title, publisher, date and relevant passage where practical. A source may be public guidance, a review, a primary study, a professional body or a first-person account; the category is considered before the wording is chosen. Where evidence is limited, the article should say so rather than implying a level of certainty that the source does not support.

Editors check whether a claim is current, whether a link resolves, whether the wording could be misunderstood, and whether the article needs a boundary or signpost to professional care. A second reading is normally completed before publication, while urgent corrections may be made first and documented afterward. Review notes are retained for up to 24 months after an article is replaced.

Readers may report an error, omission, accessibility problem or conflict concern through the contact page or by writing to 78 Elmwood Gardens, Islington, London, N1 1AB. The editorial desk aims to acknowledge reports within five working days and assess a substantive correction within 10 working days. A correction may be noted on the page, incorporated into the text, or explained in a dated update depending on its significance.

Commercial disclosure includes sponsorship, affiliate links, paid placements and material relationships involving a contributor. Disclosure is placed where a reasonable reader can see it, and commercial partners do not receive personal messages or confidential editorial correspondence. Editorial records are separated from advertising decisions and access is limited to people who need it.

This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Future changes will be dated and may explain changes to source practice, correction handling, accessibility review or commercial disclosure.

The policy applies to articles, guides, explainers, headlines, captions, corrections, editorial replies and any newsletter introduced by Veridia. It covers commissioned and internally prepared material intended for adult UK readers. A linked source remains the responsibility of its own publisher. Commercial proximity does not change the editorial status of a page.

Sources are recorded with their title, publisher, date and relevant passage where practical. Public guidance, reviews, primary studies, professional bodies and first-person accounts are considered differently because they answer different questions. Editors check whether a source is suitable for the particular wording used. Where evidence is limited, mixed or developing, the article should make that boundary clear.

Editors check currency, links, wording, accessibility, context and the risk that a reader could mistake general information for personal advice. A second reading is normally completed before publication, although an urgent correction may be made first and documented afterward. Working notes are normally retained for up to 24 months after an article is replaced. Legal or complaint records may be held longer where necessary.

The editorial desk aims to acknowledge a report within five working days and assess a substantive correction within 10 working days. Include the page address and wording at issue, but avoid unnecessary personal information. Commercial disclosure includes sponsorship, affiliate links, paid placements and material relationships involving a contributor. Commercial records may be retained for up to 24 months after a campaign or placement ends, subject to legal accounting requirements.

This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026. Future changes will be dated and may explain changes to source practice, correction handling, accessibility review, contributor declarations or commercial disclosure. The review date is not a claim that every linked source remains current.
